As Owner and Principal of Palma Creative, Inc., Julie Schlax-Patrick brings over twenty years of management experience in marketing and brand development specializing in strategy and positioning, corporate branding and company-wide content development and management across all media platforms.

In addition to founding Palma Creative, Inc., Julie has served in a number of managerial and creative roles for various companies. Most recently, Julie was Senior Writer/Editor for Mattel, Inc. developing and overseeing global marketing communications and messaging for the launch and relaunch of the company’s portfolio of brands (Barbie, Hot Wheels, Monster High, Max Steel, New IP and others).

Prior to Mattel, Julie served as Vice President of Marketing and Content for (WHN), an e-commerce service provider for the broadcast and licensed merchandise industries. She was responsible for developing the marketing and content strategy, branding and positioning of all marketing, content and press activities for WHN’s three business units. Clients included ABC, NBC, Comedy Central, Fox, MTV, TV Guide, Warner Bros., Universal, Coca-Cola and others.

Julie spent eight years with The Walt Disney Company in the Disney Consumer Products division. As Senior Editorial Manager in Creative Resources and Global Marketing, she was responsible for creative editorial direction, corporate and brand development, content strategy and standards across all DCP lines of business including marketing and merchandising programs.

Prior to Disney, Julie served as a Writer/Reporter for Forbes Magazine’s West Coast Bureau writing and reporting feature stories on marketing, entertainment and technology companies as well as various industries. Julie has also reported and researched for The New York Times Magazine as well as other publications.

Julie holds an M.A. in Critical Film Studies from the UCLA School of Film and Television and a B.A. in Communications/Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego.
